Who: Emmecosta

What: Angry Eyes

From: Kitsunè / Icons Creating Evil Art

In 50 words (or so):

Emmecosta released their nocturnal Velour EP over the summer, gaining praise from Stereogum, Clash Magazine and other tastemaker blogs. Their new single, “Angry Eyes” serves as a prequel to the EP. «‘Angry Eyes’ is where everything started, where time went slow. This is a digital ethnographic vision of uncertainty. Here, we started this journey of imagining distant places through small fragments.” “Angry Eyes” captures a harrowing moment.

Who: Flora Cash

What: Retrospective (Remix Package)

From: Icons Creating Evil Art

In 50 words (or so):

Flora Cash are a testament to the power of music bringing people together. The couple met on Soundcloud in 2012 looking for new music. Since then, Cole Randall (USA) and Shpresa Lleshaj (SWE) fell in love with each other’s sound which led to a musical and personal partnership spanning 5 years now. “‘Retrospective’ is a release centered around looking back on the past with a fresh perspective. We want to rethink the concept of the ‘remix.’ For us, these tracks are not ‘re-mixed’ but totally ‘re-imagined’. And they’ve been reimagined by producers that we consider not only great artists but great friends.

Who: Tuvaband

What: Eventually Silence

From: Brilliance

In 50 words (or so):

Tuvaband is a Norwegian/English duo made of Tuva Hellum Marschhaüser and Simon Would. Their sound is a melancholic dream world of indie and contemplative lo-fi folk aesthetics influenced by Bon Iver. However you describe their sound, it’s quickly gaining mass appeal. Since their first release one year ago their songs are already pushing 13 million Spotify plays. Their new single, “Mess” is a poetic song gently balancing piano and acoustic guitar with Tuva’s voice. The effect is an immersive listening experience that invokes imagery of a bird guarding an empty nest from predators.

From: Despotz

In 50 words (or so):

The Washington Post praised her grown up Kate Bush sounds, while Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet described her album as one of the best Swedish debut albums of all time. Who: Elliot

What: Trade Burgers 4 Love

From: Icons Creating Evil Art

In 50 words (or so):

“Trade Burgers 4 Love” is just a taste of Elliot’s lo-fi musical smorgasbord. Heavily influenced by musicians of the LA experimental pop scene (Ariel Pink, John Maus), his songs hang on you like fast-food binges while scrolling through an abyss of late night memes. Elliot says, «If I would attach any meme to this I would dig up a real dead and somewhat normie-esque one, that nonetheless captures the spirit of this track. Sad Keanu. Blast from the past.» Hold a burger in one hand and a computer mouse in the other as you contemplate your existence. In Elliot’s words, the song condemns “‘greasy burgers’ as a subject of an unhealthy way of perceiving yourself, which then leads to a weird limbo of apathy.” The message of the song exposes a sedentary lifestyle that leads to a downward spiral away from human contact…forever alone.
